Mercedes-Benz Museum

FuFu Life in Frankfurt - Chapter Nine
12th November 2009

So, after the field trips in Türbingen and Freiburg, we were brought to Stuttgart. Having the chance dropping by the city we definitely would not want to miss the Mercedes-Benz Museum, hence we paid the half price student entrance ticket Euro 4 (RM20) taking a fascinating stroll through the automotive history of the world leading brand with the three-pointed star Mercedes-Benz.

The Mercedes-Benz flags flying in front of the museum.

Visitors are greeted with the view of a unique new structure.

Three lifts that bring visitors up to the top.

Embarking on a journey through time, visitors are carried by lift to the top of the building and transported back in time to the year 1886, the birth year of the legend that surrounds the pioneering invention of Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz - the automobile. As one legend follows another, the chronological tour descends through seven floors and more than 120 years of automotive history.

The ever first modern mode of transport - bicycle.

The invention of car was started from the carriages.

From two-wheel to three-wheel and four-wheel.

Slowly the shape of car was formed with an engine.

The ancient engines that moved the cars once upon a time.

Here you can discover automotive legends such as the first Mercedes of 1902, the famous supercharged vehicles of the 1920s and 1930s and the legendary Gullwings that all displayed in a spectacular historical context. In addition to the legend tours, there are five collection rooms which explore a comprehensive range of Mercedes-Benz topics across the decades. And you will find the exhibition from every period of automotive history, vehicles once owned by famous celebrities and showpieces from every field of motorised transport. Both tour and exhibition lead to a single end point which looks at innovations for the future.

Wow... so cute. Ops, Goofy popped up. How about you?

The first Mercedes-Benz.

This Omnibus is now an antique.

The Mercedes-Benz van. Cute.

The mini touristy double decker bus.

The ancient Benz truck.

The modern Benz Diesel pick-up truck.

Too many gorgeous cars being exhibited!

One of the earliest Mercedes-Benz cars.

The Mercedes-Benz posh cars.

Wow, the winner of the 1955 World Championship for sportscars.

In the late 1950s, there's already such an awesome sportscars!

Gorgeous! 300SLR.

One of the legend tours with pictures and the explanations.

Here are some of the old advertisements of Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes-Benz 300 SL.

The omnibus.

The Füba van.

The family car.

Hulala, the sportscar/racing car.

Continued to another collection room for the classic Benz.

Mercedes-Benz 300Sc Cabriolet - pink looks totally fabulous.

OMG... this is really stunning.

Once it's so-called the flying car.

Oh... FuFu loves these classics Mercedes-Benz very much.

Again, pink rules! Fancy enough.

Entering the contemporary legend tour.

FuFu was confused which versus which model.

It real has a huge series of priceless Mercedes-Benz cars.

Letonia Reisen Bus - the Letonian travel bus.

Anyone wanna take this toy car back home?

The toy car of DKNY-02.

Police cars are wholly dominated by Mercedes-Benz.

And even the fire trucks.

Also the medical car of Formula One.

Japanese clinical car too choosing Mercedes-Benz.

The Mercedes-Benz centre with more than 130 cars to be discovered.

Do you know 90% of the buses on the planet are all Mercedes-Benz?

Ops, FuFu couldn't control himself.

FuFu wanna drive Mercedes-Benz so badly!

FuFu finally found his love at first sight! Cool!

Another awesome classic car!

The Benz once owned by Princess Diana.

Princess Diana loved Mercedes-Benz 500SL.

Legend about how Mercedes attacked world's automotive market.

Gorgeous car, comfortable bus and elegant classic car.

The Legend tour of the innovative ideas - the sportscars.

It takes key moments to usher in the future. A car - the first Mercedes stepped into the limelight in the Nice Race Week in 1901. It was followed by the legendary Formula One cars and the race trucks. Success is one of the forces that drive Mercedes-Benz. The display of this legend tour gave me the tangible expression to the concept of improving on what is already good and embracing people's dreams.

OMG! Way too much great cars here!

The part that flattered FuFu's eyes.

When form attains perfection and technology sparkles with innovation, enthusiasm is the product. Perhaps for the reason Mercedes-Benz continues to capture the imagination of generation after generation. This fascination of technology era at the museum offers otherwise hidden insights into the arcane environment of researchers and engineers. The exhibition covers a range of fascinating and state-of-the-art topics from the field of Mercedes-Benz research, design, development and production.

Wow... wow... wow...

18! FuFu likes the number!

If FuFu gonna be Number Two, who dare to be Number One?

Wonder how much it cost to just have a drive of one of these cars.

Wonderful! Futuristic cars are on the wall!

This would bring you to the universe.

FuFu gonna marry to the person who buy him this Mercedes.

One word, koool...

Okay, the magnificent legend tour has come to the end.

Not only stunned by the series of awesome cars, interior too rocks.

The souvenir shop at the ground floor.

After enjoying the legendary tour and visiting the wonderful exhibitions, the souvenir shop offers a comprehensive range of all Mercedes-Benz collections, models and items in store that are for all age groups. The shop is stocked with attractive models from the lower price of Euro 2(RM 10). For those who wish to have a Mercedes-Benz not only in the garage but also in the living room, make sure either your wallet or credit card has enough bullets.

The Mercedes-Benz made by recycled tins.

FuFu had got this when he was there three years ago.

The classic collection.

The Mercedes-Benz centre that showcases more than 130 new cars.

Mercedes-Benz symbolizes the invention of motorised mobility. The first automobiles translates the idea of freedom into reality by giving people the opportunity to travel where they wanted, when they wanted. The museum showcases a selection of contemporary issues from the fields of Mercedes-Benz research, design, development and production in a laboratory environment. The journey from the earliest days of the automobile to the present days is one each visitor can take individually and stand face to face with the icons and innovations of the history of mobility. The paths of each tour meet on each floor, enabling visitors to switch between tours – the Collections tour and Legend tour that roughly take up to two hours.

Mercedes- Benz lover if you ever drop by Frankfurt, visit Stuttgart!

The lanyard of the audio guide was a souvenir. Euro 4 real worth it!
