The GTZ Seminar

FuFu Life in Frankfurt - Chapter Two
2nd - 31st October 2009

The GTZ (Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit) is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations. GTZ promotes complex reforms and change processes, its corporate objective is to improve people's living conditions on a sustainable basis. One of GTZ's strengths is advising on the development of effective strategies and efficient solutions.

So a group of master students of Urban Agglomerations from Frankfurt University of Applied Science was invited to attend the Students' day on Decentralisation, Regional and Local Governance in the headquarter of GTZ in Eschborn together with other master students from Berlin and Darmstadt.

Taking S-bahn train to Eschborn.

Entering the GTZ building.

The lobby.

Registration session.

FuFu's tag for the seminar.

Fruits and biscuits were served on the table besides the beverages.

Still the tropical fruits rock.

GTZ has several big projects in Africa.

The seminar was going to be started soon.

The introduction.

What's decentralisation? Ask this guy please.

FuFu's coursemates were fully paying attention.

Coffee break.

This lady giving speech about the regional and local governance.

This lady was explaining the job opportunity with GTZ.

Lunch break. Euro 6.20 (RM31).

Fried cheese with strawberry yogurt sauce and bread.

Salad - mushrooms, potatoes, beans, corns, etc.

Friend's meat ball with smashed potatoes and purple cabbage salad.

Master students from all over the world.

Taiwan, Venezula, Iceland, Qatar, Ethiopia, Chile, Brazil & Colombia.

The future Urban Planners.

Waiting for the tour of the office.

While waiting and not wasting time, FuFu started taking pictures.

FuFu and Ying-han (from Taiwan).

Majd Abosamha from Doha, Qatar.

Claudia (Chile), Juan (Colombia) & Erla (Iceland).

Erika from Caracas, Venezuela.

Explaining to coursemates how to take pictures with my DSLR.

FuFu was ready but well this picture was not well captured.

The future statue for FuFu should somehow look like this i guess.

The shadow of the six of the gang.

Still waiting the tour to be started.

GTZ was showing the students its high-tech sustainable concepts.

The toilet bowl, separating and recycling human waste into fertilizers.

FuFu was taking video.

Polyana came from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Erla from Reykjavík, Iceland.

Tanjung Malim, Malaysia is FuFu's hometown.

All students then went up to the top of the building.

The company is located outskirts of Frankfurt.

The group was too big, FuFu couldn't listen to what was explained.

One of the coursemates kept taking pictures.

FuFu then snapped couples of random shots.

Smile~

FuFu is going to be a professional photographer.

Sinidu from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Juan Ricardo from Bogota, Colombia.

FuFu and his lovely coursemates.

The tour ended up with number of pictures and laughters.

FuFu was the last to leave.

Ops, took too many reading materials from GTZ.

Walking to the train station.

It's getting dark from 5pm here in Frankfurt.

On the train heading to the downtown.

Went out for a nice dinner with coursemates.

Had a great Italian pizza and german beer.

FuFu's key chain is NWA mini aircraft - FuFu likes to travel.

How are you getting on with your German? Its word conjugation is even more complicated than Japanese...

Also, they have gender nouns, etc.
They like to combine nouns together to form super long words! Ha ha...

fufu, your 'future statue' look like China's Mao famous pose :) Check this out:

I definitely LOVE the urinal concept. Recycling human waste into fertilizers. This might sound silly. But, I remember reading an article about Singaporean using the 'night soil' (human poos) as fertilizers for veggies (during the old days).

Anyway, looking at your latest pictures make me wanna study again and get a master degree.

fufu, I need your favor. I just published my latest blog article about 'The Good & Bad of KL - Survey With Global Bloggers'. Please VOTE for this entry. Here is the link:
