Frankfurt's Spring Dippemess at the Festplatz (Fairground) is the largest folk festival, also known as funfair in the Rhine-Main region. This festival comprises a market with stalls as well as parish fair with funfair attractions. Fun and games for the whole family, friends and visitors. Thursday will be the family day, all rides and food are 50% (or more) cheaper than other days.

Dippemess is a tradition which dates back to the 14th century. At that time, the Maamess, as it was then called, was a medieval market for domestic articles especially the ceramic bowls and pots. These were known in the Frankfurt dialect as "Dippe", from which the event soon took its name. Over the years, more and more funfair booths and popular attractions joined the market as well.

In the generous space available here, the Dippemess rapidly expanded, and today it is Frankfurt's largest funfair and the most popular Easter event in Germany. With visitor numbers reaching 2.5 million annually (for both Spring and Autumn), the funfair features not only the latest high-tech thrilling rides for adults but other attractions for kids as well.

This small funfair in Frankfurt is a lot better than the amusement park in Genting Highlands. No kidding seriously. You will gradually agree with me once you have read and watched the video clips i have put up here. But you probably need at least more than five minutes for this post. Couldn't let it stop! Paid Euro 3 (RM 13.50) for the second ride!


It's the cyber space, 360 spinning ride at more than 100km/h.


Erla didn't dare to challenge the ride!


FuFu was ready for the 360 spinning then rotating ride!

Whoa~ whirling up.


It stopped up in the middle of the sky and then rotating twice!


It's really up in the sky!!! It was insanely trembling off the hearts!


Nevertheless, FuFu still managed to snapped this during the ride. lol

Majd got the kappa (hippo) for just Euro 1.5 (RM 6.75).


The weather was not good for pictures but all enjoyed very much!

Weather on last Saturday was superb, hence FuFu back for pictures.


Was welcomed by the big ferris wheel.


This ferris wheel is a lot better than London Eye & Eye on Malaysia.








It was around 6:30pm and still bright.




The merry go round - a typical attraction you can find at all funfairs.




Didn't expect they have the water slide one as well!

Buy the coupons and get them randomly.


Tear it and check the point printed on it.


Calculate the total point you have.


Then give it to the staff. She will count it again.


And you will be informed which category of dolls you can choose of.

The Alpina-Bahn FuFu had with his coursemates two days ago!


It was Euro 4 (RM 18) for a ride one Saturday (Euro 2 on Thursday).

It's roughly 9pm. FuFu had nearly spent three hours at the funfair.


Went up the hill for the whole view of the funfair before leaving.


Took the U-bahn (underground/subway) line 7 back home.
