FuFu Life in Curitiba - Brazil
22nd - 23rd July 2010 | Part One

The journey to Curitiba, Brazil from Frankfurt, Germany was great! Though it was a 20hour long haul trip but i had a great day! It was supposed to rain (according to the forecast i checked day before i came here), but now it's sunny with chilly wind! Curitiba is welcoming me! Obrigado (Thank you)! It's a nice starting point.


Transiting to Rio at Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport.

Need to mention that out international airport - KLIA does really deserve to be voted as one of the World's Best Airport, because the most of the airport here in Europe, for instance Frankfurt International Airport and Paris CDG International Airport have no free WiFi services, and the departure halls are small and most of the passengers have to stand while waiting for boarding! Though the cleanliness of the washrooms in the airport are acceptable, still we have staff cleaning it from time to time for the next users.

Saw Cristo Redentor while taking off at Rio to Curitiba!


Being able to see the Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer), one of the new Seven Wonders in the world, in the plane is the most exciting moment for the trip from Germany to Curitiba. The beaches along the coastal line of the continent are beautiful, really can't wait to be there myself next year basking in the sun and enjoy watching poposudas!



Above is the aerial picture of Curitiba! See how the city is developed. Very nice main corridor alongside with concentrated high rise buildings and the backbone of its well known and organised bus system. The city is very green as well. There are so many parks provided for everyone at every corner in the city. Great! (Curitiba is known for its sustainable development)



This picture below is taken at the mini balcony of my host, Oldy's apartment of one back street here in Curitiba! Need to highlight that my host is nice! He is such a friendly and easy going person! I would stay at his apartment until i have found a room here! He is living right at the city centre with his brother! We just had a buffet styled lunch at Restaurante Lotus (a Chinese restaurant). And did a short walking trip around the city centre! The streets here are very attractive to stroll around! Absolutely nice for pedestrians.



Well, the streetscape (i would say 50%) here in Curitiba is quite similar to Kuala Lumpur. The differences would be the people here are mostly Brazilians and the signboards are in Portuguese. Love at first sight! I think i gonna love Curitiba more than Frankfurt! lol I will upload more pictures about Curitiba sooner once i am familiar with the neighbourhoods here! Stay tuned ya.

Brazil is exotic! I went to a inner healing prayer here in Curitiba with my host and his friends last night! The prayer to the Jesus is very special here. I was told this tradition was brought in to Brazil from Africa. I have no time to figure it out yet. Will definitely do a complete report of this mysterious religion sooner!

Being the only Asian people, i was welcoming by the whole community! The pastor even specially introduced me and invited me to sit in front with other devotees, during the inner healing prayer ceremony! I was feeling extremely proud when all hand clapping as a demonstration of approval (FuFu is part of Curitiba!), appreciation (FuFu is the only Asian), acclamation (FuFU is welcomed to Curitiba). It was a great night! I had taken 20 videos! Will share with you guys here later. Stay tuned ya.
