" A temporary operating licence was issued to Lynas Malaysia, a wholly owned operation of Australia’s Lynas Corporation, for its controversial rare earth refinery plant built in Gebeng, an industrial estate about 20 km from Kuantan, Pahang (East Coast of the Peninsular Malaysia) that will harmfully endanger the citizens. This rare earth refinery creates tonnes of residual radioactive waste while the current technology is still insolvent to diminish radioactive materials. Hence, the pollution may most probably be spread over a wide area, into the ASEAN neighbours through the South China Sea eventually. Seawater, marine products and agricultural products will be serious affected, hence destroy the ecology system..."
